TEN: The Enthusiast Network is pleased to announce the hiring of Micah Abrams as the Group Content Director for the company’s Sports and Entertainment division. In this newly created role, Abrams will oversee editorial across all platforms for TEN’s award-winning portfolio of action and adventure sports brands including SURFER, TRANSWORLD SKATEBOARDING, POWDER and GRINDTV.

“Micah is an important senior addition to our team as we continue to evolve and expand our content offerings across multiple channels of distribution,” said Norb Garrett, Executive Vice President and General Manager of TEN’s Sports and Entertainment Group. “His experience in the digital space coupled with his deep knowledge of the action/outdoor world enables him to have an immediate impact on how we maximize our content strategies and grow our audiences.”

Abrams joins TEN from the parenting site Fatherly where he was the founding Editorial Director. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in action sports media, including as ESPN.com’s Senior Editor for action sports and the Editor-In-Chief of the groundbreaking ski magazine FREEZE. His work as a producer on NBCOlympics.com during the Beijing Games earned him a Sports Emmy, and he has scripted the voiceover narration for the annual Warren Miller Entertainment ski and snowboard films for the past 11 years.

“The pace of change in digital media can give you whiplash, but one thing was true before the internet was invented and it’s true now: brand matters,” says Abrams. “TEN’s action and adventure sports brands are category leaders for a reason — they’re the most authoritative, inspirational, and innovative voices in an increasingly crowded landscape. To help these incredibly talented editorial staffs evolve their offerings and effectively serve their readers and viewers across platforms is a dream opportunity and I’m beyond excited to join the team.”
